– Kith Meng of Royal Group has unveiled plans to build an airport on Koh Rong, the Kingdom’s largest island, in Preah Sihanouk province. (PPPost)

–  According to Kohsantepheap(July 30), in the previous year, 2008, Cambodia had received 2.125.465 foreign tourists. It increased 5.5% with $1.595 million revenue which was 10% of the GDP and provided more than 300.000 jobs.

JAPAN Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp (JOGMEC) has committed to a second year of investment in exploration for gold and base metals in Kratie province with its joint-venture partner Southern Gold, the Australian company. (PPPost)

– New national carrier Cambodia Angkor Air (CAA), which is set to launch on Monday July 27th 2009, will receive US$100 million in initial investment as part of a 30-year agreement. It is 51 percent owned by the government and 49 percent by Vietnam Airlines. (PPPost)
